ETLS course is a continuing medical education program that was adopted from Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)* developed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and other sources to address to any trauma patients seriously injured and requires rapid assessment of injuries and institution of life preserving therapy.

Despite our efforts to obtain formal training and adoption of the original ATLS in Bhutan, challenges have led to the development of ETLS, tailored to the Bhutanese context. 

This course aims to allow participants to develop essential competencies on responding to emergencies related to trauma. 

Course Purpose

The purpose of the course is to improve healthcare providers' knowledge and skills to save people affected with trauma by simple, cost-effective, and evidence based interventions in all settings in the country. Main Objective To equip all the health care providers with skills to provide Emergency Trauma Life Support ETLS).

Learning Objectives

The objective of the course is to train all health care providers on Emergency Trauma Life Support to save lives by providing evidenced based immediate and efficient care.
